The latest media blast from forthcoming PC RTS Ancient Wars: Sparta finds the game's Persian faction peering out from beneath the rug. Ahem.
Blessed with gifted ship builders (they are the only faction able to construct a ship right at the shore, without the need of a dock or a harbour, apparently), the Persians also get cool battle elephants, massive ballistas for defense and employ battering rams to knock down walls and stuff.
But the crowning Persian glory are the Immortals, warriors hard

It's clear, after viewing the latest trailer from Funcom's Age of Conan, that the developer is pulling out all the stops to create one of the most visually impressive environments ever seen in the massively multiplayer online RPG genre. Just take a look at the movie, titled Eiglophian Mountains. Very nice, no?
Of course, you'll need a super-spec PC to get the game running at this level of visual niceness, but hey we can still look on and go 'OOOooh.'
Three new screenshots from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed reveal a dive maneuver executed by lead character Altair. Look, look at him fly.
In fact, view the shots quickly in sequence and its like your own little Assassin's Creed flip book, Altair leaping from a rooftop and twisting in mid-air to land safely on a handily positioned hay cart. Phew.
Ubisoft's assassin-'em-up wowed audiences at Microsoft's X06 event last year, an acrobatic, wall-scaling and rooftop-leaping star boasting superb

Can't help but feel an overwhelming, manly urge to look at pictures of armor-clad, skirt-wearing men running around thrusting spears through each other? We just received ten new screens of Ancient Wars: Sparta, and it looks like the game will be featuring plenty of just that.

Assassin's Creed is set to get its own book trilogy written by a bestselling author, which clearly makes the Xbox 360 and PS3 game as important as Halo, which also has its own range of books.
The first novel in the Assassin's Creed trilogy is due to launch in October 2007 and will be penned by New York Times bestselling author Steven Barnes. The books will aim to expand on the game by covering the back back-story of protagonist Altair and Third Crusade

The most notable difference is in the backdrops - where DX9 cuts down background detail to a minimum, DX10 will fill your screen with detail be it near or
An eight-minute film based on Assassin's Creed is being created by developer Ubisoft, who has set up a dedicated digital cinema studio at its Montreal offices. This could also mean other projects based on Ubisoft's videogame line-up, ranging from longer films to TV shows.
The film won't be appearing in your average cinema, however, as Ubisoft is planning to bring the short to websites and perhaps Xbox Live's Marketplace, according to an article from the International Herald Tribune. This
Eidos is keen to show off the visuals of its DirectX 10-based action-RPG, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, on the way to PC and Xbox 360. This footage gives you a scenic fly-through of a town called Khemi - a dusty town near a stretch of water, in what the trailer proudly boasts to be "in-game" graphics.
Although to be honest, apart from some nice water effects and a decent volume of buildings, we found it rather
