  • Ubisoft has released details on the games it'll be showing at its E3 presentation this year. With 2011 marking the company's 25th anniversary (which of course you knew, as it's marked on all major calendars) the company touts the presentation as one of its biggest yet. Updates to popular series include the third Call of Juarez, two-point-third Assassin's Creed and Rayman Origins – the latter of which, presumably, will feature the scene young fans have dreaded for years in which the loveable hero's missing limbs are at last explained...

  • Ubisoft is giving PlayStation Plus and Uplay members an exclusive first taste of the Assassin's Creed Revelations multiplayer beta. The trial event is set to run September 3rd to 11th, and similar to last year's Assassin's Creed Brotherhood beta, the sneak peak will be for PS3-eyes only...

  • When it hits this November, Assassin’s Creed Revelations will allegedly be the final chapter in the story of Renaissance-era Assassin Ezio Auditore (after which the series’ action will presumably move on to a different time period). If you just can’t let the increasingly grizzled Assassin go, however, take heart: publisher Ubisoft today announced that it’ll roll out an animated short, titled Assassin’s Creed Embers, to fill in some of the details of Ezio’s twilight years...

  • There's a tricky line to be walked when deciding what IP is well-known enough to turn into an action figurine: one wrong step or overly niche property committed to plastic-moulded and lovingly painted posterity, and you're no longer immortalizing pop culture icons, you're just a grown adult with sword-wielding dolls on your mantelpiece. With Assassin's Creed's Ezio Auditore da Firenze one of the most-recognizable – and unique – characters of gaming's current generation, though, there's little danger of that: even the ornately incognito hooded variant on NECA's latest figurine is a striking addition to the company's line. Here's a look at how the statuette holds up next to a few of the company's past forays into gaming...

  • If you’ve read our preview earlier today on Assassin’s Creed Revelation’s multiplayer action, then you already know that the game will feature some fairly deep customization options, including customizable emblems you can use to decorate your in-game avatars. What you probably didn’t know, however, was that one of those emblems – an eagle head atop a shield – will be available only to members of the press. What’s this mean for you? Bragging rights, of course...

By all rights, Ubisoft's annualization of the Assassin's Creed franchise should have beaten the brand into a bloody lifeless pulp by now, yet trailers like this newest one from Gamescom indicate the generations-spanning series keeps getting better, not worse. At least, that's how it appears on the surface. We've been fooled by crisp images and slick editing before, so before our cynical jerk reflexes kick in we invite you to trip out with the latest footage of Ezio, Altair and Desmond carrying on the family business in Assassin's Creed Revelations...

  • Above: Revelations' Ezio will sport one of those goatees that men often try out when they hit 50

New details revealed in Game Informer magazine indicate that Revelations' title refers to an increased fleshing-out of Altaïr's memories for the 50-year-old Ezio, and both stories in turn for Desmond, whose gameplay sequences are split between puzzle sequences and a new “Black Room” Animus safe-mode. The new Altaïr sequences are accessed by Ezio through the discovery of hidden seals...

Even though it’s only a preview of what Ubisoft will no doubt unveil during its E3 press conference on June 6, at least this is a relatively long teaser filled with interesting moments. Billed as the final chapter in the Ezio trilogy of games, the trailer certainly has an air of finality to it, as Ezio explains how his end seems near. With glimpses of Mr. Auditore da Firenze cutting into fools interspersed with flashes of a man who seems to be Atlair, it ends with a shocking moment of the assassins’ trademark hidden blade being broken...

  • We all knew there was going to be another Assassin's Creed game coming this year – we've been seeing teases of it for the past few days, if nothing else – but today, publisher Ubisoft finally let us in on its plans. Set to release this November on PS3, 360 and PC, Assassin’s Creed Revelations once again focuses on Ezio Auditore, this time as he travels to Constantinople (now Istanbul) to follow in the footsteps of his ancestor, Altair – and, of course, to kill a lot of Templars...

  • Ubisoft is rewarding early adopters of Assassin's Creed: Revelations for PS3 with a bonus copy of the very first game in the AC series. The freebie is being offered as part of an exclusive partnership with Sony, and will appear pre-loaded with “day one” versions of the upcoming sequel…
