Splash Damage and id have released the promised PC demo of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. It weighs in at just over 700MB.
So says the Quake Wars community website, the demo "comes with the final version of Valley, one of the larger battlegrounds in the game. Set in Yosemite, California, Valley has the Global Defense Force on the attack, as they attempt to foil a Strogg contamination plot centering on a water treatment facility.

Though traditional tabletop games have been losing ground to videogames for years, the hot new thing at this year's GenCon Indy appeared to be mash-ups that merged the best of both worlds to create the gaming equivalent of Frankensteins monster - though more friendly and less likely to lug away your girlfriend. News earlier this week that a demo of the PC version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be out this September before the game ships has been quickly followed by a confirmed release date - September 10, according to a post on official community forums.
As yet there's no details on what the demo will feature, although we've dropped the game's developer Splash Damage a line to find

Splash Damage is busy working on a demo of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars on PC and plans to release it in the middle of September.
In a post on the game's community website, the developer also spoke about support for the multiplayer shooter after it releases.
"Our first goal after completing the game's demo... will be to watch closely and address any issues that come up in the first few weeks after the game's release. Next, we'll be putting the polish on the Software Developers
