How does THQ top the skydiving gunplay insanity from its last Saints Row: The Third gameplay trailer? With murderous Lucha Libra wrestlers and a crap ton of drop kicks, of course (you had to ask?). Check out the newest footage from Volition's upcoming sequel featuring Eddie “Killbane” Pryor (aka The Walking Apocalypse), and the rest of his colorful Luchadores gang...

Good old eastern Europe. Always there when we need something poetic, bleak, and utterly mad. Oh and Borat. Don't forget Borat. Beautifully bleak poetry and ironic racist sterotypes, then. Eastern Europe, you have that shit nailed.

Mercilly full of the former and lacking any form of satirical anti-semitism, these screens from the upcoming Metro: Last Light, sequel to sleeper-hit-Moscow-apocalypse-survival-horror-FPS Metro 2033, have just arrived from - yes, like everything this week - Gamescom. Check 'em out. They contain a small boy about to be eaten by something unpleasant, and the most tear-jerkingly poignant tree you've ever seen.

If you ignore the dead dudes floating in the water, the setting for Far Cry 3 could be such a lovely holiday destination. Just bathe in the blue-sky palm-tree sunshine loveliness of these screenshots. They're so bloody tropical we should probably get diphtheria and tetanus vaccinations before even looking at them. So if it's all rain and greyness outside where you are, make your eyes happy by browsing the following pictures (but try to ignore the nasty stuff like corpses and executions).

Any new BioShock Infinite screen is worth writing about as far as we’re concerned, but the four released today are particularly great. This is our closest look at enigmatic sidekick Elizabeth – both her crazy powers and her compelling personality – outside of the E3 demo video we posted last month...

On the heels of unveiling the first public gameplay of Dota 2 this week at Germany's Gamescom, Valve has announced the public beta is open for signups. The registration has been posted alongside the tournament bracket for the million-dollar competition happening at Gamescom this week. You'll need to register for Steam to participate, but aside from that, the beta is open to everyone...

You might have managed to keep Guild Wars 2 off your radar so far, but if you watch this video there’s a really good chance you’re going to be sold. Like, completely, totally, “take all my money I don’t need it anymore” sold. At GamesCom, AreaNet released a five-minute long trailer for their upcoming MMORPG, and it’s just about the most epic thing you’ll see all day. It’s jam-packed with everything MMO fans love: large battles, unique characters, beautiful settings, wonderful music, and a giant freaking dragon. Oh, and enough slow-motion fighting to make even the most jaded MMO fans weak in the knees.  Seriously. Give it a go...

There's nothing particularly funny about Markus “Notch” Persson's battle with Bethesda's (read: ZeniMax's) lawyers over the alleged misuse of the name 'Scrolls' for Mojang Studios' next game, however there is something refreshingly awesome about his proposed solution. Hoping to end the dispute as quickly and honorably as possible, the Minecraft creator today challenged Bethesda to a Quake 3 duel, the outcome of which will determine if the trademark case goes to court or if it dies in the arena. And yes, he's completely serious...

By all rights, Ubisoft's annualization of the Assassin's Creed franchise should have beaten the brand into a bloody lifeless pulp by now, yet trailers like this newest one from Gamescom indicate the generations-spanning series keeps getting better, not worse. At least, that's how it appears on the surface. We've been fooled by crisp images and slick editing before, so before our cynical jerk reflexes kick in we invite you to trip out with the latest footage of Ezio, Altair and Desmond carrying on the family business in Assassin's Creed Revelations...

Ooh, it's all happening at Gamescom, the game show spectacular currently occurring in Cologne, Germany. MMO super-publisher NCsoft has unveiled WildStar - the next PC game to sit alongside such favourites as Guild Wars 2 and City of Heroes on its ever-expanding roster of games that are online and massively multiplayer.

Cryptic Studios has pushed back the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons game Neverwinter until late next year. The delay is due to Cryptic’s parent company, Perfect World Entertainment, wanting to give the game more time to develop...
