Long ago a computer scientist called Dr Sepulveda created a beautiful digital world existing entirely within a computer network of his own invention. From the official forum of Introversion: Admittedly it's been on the rumour-mill for a while and quite possibly one of the worst-kept secrets in Introversion's history, but recent events meant we thought it was time to end the speculation once and for all! Introversion's multiplayer-focused strategy game Multiwinia will be far more action-packed than its cult classic cousin, Darwinia, by the sound of it.
"...we've always considered this game to share only the setting with Darwinia - not the game or mechanics. Multiwinia is a much faster, more aggressive and more visceral experience than Darwinia ever was," Introversion's Chris Delay tells the UK's PC Zone magazine.
Multiwinia was first unveiled in February 2007. At the time, the

Gameplayer has got word on a stack of new details for the sequel to cult classic Darwinia. Introversion, the indie studio responsible for Uplink, DEFCON, and the upcoming Subversion, has been working on Multiwinia for some time. It's reached the point where in-depth play-testing can occur, and quirky interface oddities that make perfect sense to the game's programmers can be weeded out in favour of game controls that newcomers can understand.
