So you knew that Call of Duty: Black Ops is the best-selling game of this generation (though not of all time, however Activision might spin its numbers). And you knew that Modern Warfare 2 sold a metric shitload before it. But did you know the exact numbers of units shifted? Possibly not, as Activision has often favoured referencing profits over sales figures. But now things have changed. And ye gods, are those numbers terrifyingly large. Like, ogre-on-the-back-of-an-elephant-on-the-strange-giant-mystery-planet-from-Land-of-the-Giants large. In fact the numbers are so large that they're impossible to wrap the human brain around when detailed in mere numerological abstraction, so I've provided some easily comparable real-world comparisons over the jump so that you can get into your head just how soul-shudderingly large these numbers are.

An LA judge has ruled that Jason West and Vincent Zampella – ousted Infinity Ward heads and protagonists in a saga involving allegations of corporate espionage – have a valid case against their former employer, Activision. Following the March ruling that Activision had a relevant case against Electronic Arts, the case now looks set to proceed in the coming months...

Are video games art? Thank you, please stop asking. Should the question of "are video games art" be debated on Fox News by shiny middle-aged white dudes hollering confusedly about "taxpayer money?" Now there's a proposition to make you wish that whole Rapture thing had panned out...

Woah. Serious business. It seems Kotaku has acquired the motherlode leak on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Story locations, new multiplayer modes, new multiplayer maps, screenshots, every single plot -point right to the ending.... If this stuff is real, the whole game has been blown. We've decided not to reproduce it all here. You can decide how much you want to know for yourself, and head over to Kotaku if you want it all. Instead we've produced a rough bullet-point overview. Read on if you want to, but know that here be spoilers, however much reduced from the full menu.

Infinity Ward founders Vince Zampella and Jason West, who have been embroiled in a public dispute with Activision since being sacked last year, are seeking partial rights to the Modern Warfare franchise. If they succeed, they may gain the right to release new games in the series, presumably through their new studio, Respawn Entertainment, and its publishing deal with EA...

It’s the battle of the big ones. Electronic Arts must defend itself against a $400 million lawsuit by rival publisher Activision Blizzard regarding the hiring of Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, ruled a California Superior Court judge…

Infinity Ward is delivering on its promise to combat the large number of hacks and security issues that have plagued Modern Warfare 2. A large patch is heading for the PS3 version tomorrow, which will address numerous concerns that have popped up over the last few months.

For two years now we’ve thrown health, sleep and sobriety to the wind in order to bring you GamesRadar’s 24 Hour Marathon!
Information is valuable, but like money, it can be counterfeited - a countdown site at www.findmakarov.com got a bunch of press last week when it was initially presumed to be an official Activision teaser for Modern Warfare 3... nope!
