Take-Two's current fiscal year holds few major game releases, but analysts said investors should look further into the future, when games like BioShock 2, Max Payne 3, and a new Grand Theft Auto hit shelves.
GOONL!NE: Rockstar Games has promised, in a tweet, that there will be "lots of announcements" from them today.
Take-Two has announced that BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption have all been delayed until Fiscal 2010.
It's been over five years since we last saw a Max Payne game, and fans have been been eagerly awaiting a return to the gritty film noir world presented in those games. Most people were initially pretty excited when the game was announced back in March, but since then some people have started to feel a little bit concerned that Max Payne 3 won't live up to it's predecessors.
Gameplayer got the word from Rockstar on some specific details of the next Max Payne game. This includes some information on his drug addiction, gameplay and story. There are also some fresh (possibly new?) screenshots. Details inside...
ZKG writes "Yesterday we got our first look at some brand new screens from Max Payne 3 and today we have a fact sheet, its short but more than we have had up until now. So if you haven't read the July issue of GameInformer, check it out."
Max Payne 3: Rise of the Ashes. Is this the subtitle of Rockstars upcoming Max Payne 3? A source close to Take-Two reports to pcgames.de that this is a fact. The source also released a pre-production Cover-Art. Rockstar stated: "No comment."
Joystiq: "UK retail site PLAY has Max Payne 3 all set for an October 30, 2009 bullet-timed released. When Live Playstation followed up with the retail outlet for comment on where it got the date, the site was told the gaming chain was given the information by 'the developers of the game.'
LivePlayStation: "Yesterday we published an article on the release date of Max Payne 3 and that Play.com had the release date for Max Payne 3 as November 30. We contacted Play and asked them about this and we had the reply:"
Looking through different retail sites it seems that Max Payne 3 has an all-but confirmed release date of November 30 2009. According to Play.com, Max Payne 3 will be hitting shelves on the last Friday before December.
For fans of the first two games (developed by Remedy) perhaps the most interesting thing is that well known character actor James McCaffrey won't be returning to voice Max Payne in the third installment.
Badassgamer: "Every since the first scans of the Game Informer magazine featuring the much anticipated Max Payne 3 were leaked onto the World-Wide-Web, gamers worldwide have been going slightly crazy over certain aspects of the new game, not crazy enough to start a worldwide boycott, but they do seem to be growing in number."
VG247: If the image we've just been directed to is to be believed, the next issue of Game Informer has Max Payne 3 on the cover, and to say that Max has changed is an understatement.
The latest issue of Game Informer has some juicy new details on Rockstar's Max Payne 3. Max is now bald, bearded and addicted to pain killers. Which has an affect on the gameplay. Max has hit rock bottom in every sense of the word and has found himself in Sao Palo, Brazil. Max Payne 3 is looking visually very similar to Uncharted 2 (stunning), with vibrant colors and fully destructible environments - all powered by Rockstar's RAGE engine and a procedural animation system.
GOONL!NE: Rockstar Games has confirmed to GOONL!NE that a teaser trailer of Max Payne 3 released this morning is a fake.
