PC - Mass Effect - Mass Effect PC Release Date Changes - New Date May 28, 2008 Chris Priestly, BioWare Community Coordinator, writes:

"I have just confirmed with the development team that we are making a small change to the release date of Mass Effect for the PC. We had previously announced May 6, 2008 for North America. The new release date for North America is May 28, 2008 and June 6, 2008 in Europe."

PC - Mass Effect - Mass Effect PC Co-Developed by Demiurge Studios Gamershell reports that the Demiurge Studios today confirmed that they are co-developing with BioWare the PC version of Mass Effect. Demiurge began working with BioWare during the final stretch of development for the Xbox 360 version, allowing the studios to collaborate closely throughout the co-development process.

Demiurge worked closely with the BioWare team to enhance gameplay with new additions, such as a third command wheel to allow players to direct their squad members separately, a completely reworked inventory system, fully customized key mapping and hot keys, and an entirely new minigame. Substantial attention was also paid to visuals and game flow, featuring higher resolution environments and characters.

PC - Mass Effect - PC Mass Effect confirmed for May 6 in North America BioWare has today announced that Mass Effect, the multi award-winning space exploration epic will be released for PC on May 6 across North America.

The game has been redesigned for the PC and introduces a host of new features. These include a new squad control interface, hot-key functionality, redesigned Mako controls, quick-save and increased save slots, a new decryption mini-game and a new inventory screen GUI.

PC - Mass Effect - New Burnout, Skate on the way EA Games president reveals "extension" of driving and skateboarding series in next fiscal year, commits long-term to Mass Effect, and says next Need for Speed will return to series' roots.

Another new franchise EA is prepping a sequel for is Mass Effect, which was announced for the PC today. From the very first time now EA-owned developer BioWare showed it off in 2005, the role-playing game franchise was touted as trilogy. EA Games president Frank Gibeau's presentation today suggested it may not end there, as he told analysts that it "will be a franchise for [EA] for a very long time." He also said that going forward, EA will take over publishing duties on the Mass Effect franchise from Microsoft Game Studios, which handled the game's initial release on the Xbox 360.
