Lord of the Rings Online Shadows of Angmar

The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar - exclusive screens

Google maps and Gandalf? Developers put the "fun" in functionality for fans

All these sorts of features and resources will be brought in-game. Instead of wading through online databases like www.allakhazam.com or www.thottbott.com, players can expect to see a convenient in-game Wiki-like webpage where you can read and post information about quests and items. A version of Google maps will also be implemented into the game, making map mods like Atlas or Cosmos all but obsolete. Forget about scouring the net for the best deals on private Ventrillo or TeamSpeak servers while you’re at it, as plans are also in the works to include a built-in voice chat system.

Even without these thoughtful and convenient features, there’s a lot of content that’s exciting for both MMO fans and followers of the Lord of the Rings series. We’ve been putting in some serious hours with the beta version of the game so make sure to catch up everything from the combat system to the new Monster Play mode by clicking here. In the meantime, go ahead and click on the Images tab above to feed your eyes some delicious (and exclusive) new screens of one of the most highly anticipated MMOs scheduled to release this year.
