Lord of the Rings Online Shadows of Angmar

Huge content update for LotRO this month

Class updates, new raid instances, player-owned housing and more hitting the MMO soon

Oct 18, 2007

The latest free content update Turbine is whipping up for its MMO Lord of the Rings Online releases this month (on October 25) - and it's a hefty one.

In addition to continuing the epic storyline the developer's cleverly intertwined with Tolkien's narrative, Book 11: Defenders of Eriador features 11 skill updates for the Minstrel and Lore-master character classes, new raid and high-level world content, Monster Play enhancements and - deep breath - player housing.

"Just imagine retreating to your own private hobbit-hole after a hard day's burgling, or inviting your friends over for some pipeweed and a chat in your stately elven-dwelling", says Turbine.

Book 11 also marks the first appearance of Gollum in the game, along with the fire-snorting Balrog. More details on the update here.
