The first is box art, because laughing at other people’s hard work gone awry is fantastically easy. Right behind those myriad articles about game packaging are lists devoted to poking fun at their very names – and we’re not afraid to go back to the well for another bit of fun. ...

Command & Conquer 3 developer EA Los Angeles has admitted that it has had a "chronic issue [with product support] for more than four years," and is forming a dedicated support team to try and address the issue.

Stemming from "I am not as proud of our record in supporting our games after launch. In fact, I'm downright unhappy with that aspect of our business," EALA general manager Mike Verdu wrote on the official C&C site. The admission stemmed from a long-delayed patch for the PC edition of the C&C3 expansion pack Kane's Wrath.

Verdu noted that EALA tends to release a "limited number of patches for our products and in many cases those patches take longer than they should," attributing the issues to 'tension between developing new products and supporting our older products.'"
Villains don't get the respect they deserve. We spend so much of our time rooting against them in movies or bringing about their downfall in videogames that we never stop to appreciate all the blood, toil, sweat and tears it takes to be a villain. Okay, so maybe the blood is usually somebody else's, but still... destroying the world ain't easy.

We learned this lesson the hard way recently while battling through the single-player campaign in Rise of the Witch-king, the new evil-themed expansion ...
We all know how The Lord of the Rings ends. Evil is defeated, the tide of darkness is turned back and peace returns to the happy lands of Middle-earth. The squeaky hobbits and their singing elf pals win, while the side with giant wolves, man-eating dragons and bloodthirsty trolls... loses. Doesn't seem fair, does it?

The creators of the successful real-time strategy game Battle for Middle-earth II certainly don't think so. That's why they're taking us back to the beginning - the root of all ...
Contradicting all reports that J.R.R. Tolkien is actually dead, Electronic Arts announced today that they are expanding the Battle for Middle-earth II universe, with the Rise of the Witch-King add-on for the hit strategy sequel.

The Witch-king expansion will take players down the dark path of evil, telling the story of the nefarious Witch-King's rise to power in a new campaign. The Witch-King leads a new faction, the Angmar, but goodie-goodies get an expanded retinue for each of the six ...
