Home Entertainment Group has announced a worldwide license agreement for TT Games Publishing to continue developing the highly successful LEGO based videogames across multiple platforms. Operating as part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a division of WBHEG, TT Games is the publisher and developer behind the award-winning hit LEGO videogame franchises including, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Batman: The Videogame and LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, which have sold close to 50 million units worldwide.

When Buena Vista Games announced that it was releasing a PC game based on Desperate Housewives, the title instantly became the subject of widespread derision. However, according to the latest list of top-selling PC games, the publisher may be having the last laugh. According to industry research firm The NPD Group, Desperate Housewives was the sixth most popular PC game in the US during the week of October 8-14, besting both Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (seventh) and Age of Empires III (ninth).

After only one week on store shelves worldwide, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy has already established itself as one of 2006's strongest forces in video games. Since its release by LucasArts and TT Games on September 12, the biggest family game of the year has sold more than 1.1 million copies spanning eight platforms (PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, Xbox 360 and Xbox video game systems from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube, Windows, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Game Boy Advance).
We've done our best to try to convince you of the ultimate supremacy of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, but, as it turns out, the world either has no need of our advice or takes it very seriously. Selling 1.1 million copies (or "units" as industry pundits call them) in its very first week of being available to the masses, LEGO Star Wars II has cemented the value of family friendly titles in this blood-soaked, violence-mongering industry.
