Valve has brushed off new rumours (again) of a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead, sparked by a rather decisive listing on a UK retailer website.
With not just a PS3 version listed, but a release date of June 5, EA down as the label and even the ability to pre-order the game right now, HMV seems pretty sure it's happening. More than an easily-missed typo-o, anyway.

Valve's cooperative zombie-shooter Left 4 Dead sold 1.8 million copies at retailers worldwide in 2008, distributor Electronic Arts revealed in a conference call today.
The figure accounts for retail sales of the PC and Xbox 360 versions, but does not include those copies sold via Valve's digital distribution platform Steam.

"Andrew "Outatime" Wells has been in the mapping scene for some time now. He's has been working on a single map based off the Recoon City Police Department from Resident Evil 3 (Since back in 2006). When news of Left 4 Dead reached his ears, he scratched the single map idea and came up with a plan on creating a full campaign inspired by Resident Evil 3. Now, the campaign is in full swing and it looks amazing."

Faliszek has confirmed to Shacknews that the update is on target for this week.
Original story: A major patch for the PC version of Left 4 Dead should arrive later this week, according to information from Valve that comes by way of forum fans.
Developer Chet Faliszek apparently detailed the patch in email responses to two fans, saying that the patch "got larger than [the team] would have liked."

Zac, petbird, and jonmag are remaking Resident Evil 2 in Left 4 Dead. Titled Bioh4zard 2, the mod will recreate parts of the Resident Evil 2 game into multiplayer co-op scenarios in Left 4 Dead.
"The campaign places the four survivors on the abadoned streets of racoon city after a truck crashes into your car. You head on foot to the police station in hope of rescue. Upon entering the station you recieve help from an injured cop who points you in the direction of the sewers to escape the infested city, however the 4 survivors soon end up discovering the reason behind the infection when they come across a top secret high tech research facility by the 'Umbrella' corperation."
