I agree. I don't see how this is a sequel, it should be an expansion pack. I think they fucked up if this game is a totally different app and you can't play the "old" chars/maps if you have LFD1 installed also. Nobody who didn't buy LFD is going to buy LFD2, really. So they are going to be splitting their player base in half. That doesn't strike me as a wise business decision.
Also, I don't see enough content here to warrant calling it a sequel. How many maps does LFD1 have, 4.1?
Finally, I'm not completely anal about realism, but I saw a video of a guy lighting zombies on fire with "burning bullets" -- what's next, a lightning gun?
I hope you know what the fuck you are doing Valve (you usually do).

This is something I'll probably buy if the price were around the same as the last one, 29.99 or 19.99. The 1st L4D featured four maps and while the director changed things every map, it still got boring after a while once you memorized the map layouts. It's still a fun game, don't get me wrong, I just don't think L4D2 should be $50-$60 if it contains the same amount of content as the first. I'd pay the full price if they added say, 15-20 maps and a heck of a lot more depth via weapons, special infected, etc. As it stands, in my opinion, L4D is a nice casual 10-30 minute thrill ride when I'm in the mood to shoot something, but I burn out after that time frame due to the gameplay being the same map after map.

You know what would be really cool? If the new characters met up with Zoey, Francis, Bill, and Louis. I'm just saying that because I may not like the new characters. Well, you have a big black guy, a black girl, someguy with a cap, and another guy in the Mafia.

looks like shit. besides a new story, all they added were mele wepons.if it was anyone but valve, i would think that it was just for a few bucks.

This is just going to be more of the same crap as L4D. Now dont get me wrong, L4D was fun, but it could have been so much better if they made it LOOK graphically better and more creepy. They are using a dated engine. They need new stuff. Im tired of valve pumping out crap.
