ripwire Interactive proudly announced today that they have sold over 1 Million copies of their survival horror shooter Killing Floor today. That is quiet the accomplishment for an Indie studio. To celebrate Tripwire is practically giving away Killing Floor on Steam for 85% off or $3.00! If you havent already picked it up now would be a great time to join the million other people that have.
Tripwire Interactive announced that Killing Floor has crossed a million sales.
<br /> In addition, roughly 2 million downloadable calm packs have been sold, and players have clocked 45 million hours in a game. Players have taken down 440 million zeds, including roughly 250K Christmas Santas. The zed electrocute is still ongoing, being killed during a rate of roughly 20,000 per hour.
"In celebration of Killing Floor selling 1 million copies the game has been put up for sale on Steam with 85% off."
The dedicated agents from the U.S. Department of Electronic Entertainment report: "Steampowered.com is permitting customers to play the co-op online zombie survival game Killing Floor for free this weekend. Although this may appear to be overt Communist activity on American soil, it is actually a marketing tactic to entice customers into buying the game, which is on sale at 75% off for five dollars through this weekend."
Tripwire Interactive has announce major free DLC coming this week to all Killing Floor players. They have been teasing this the past week with their mystery picture, but now the wait is over. The Winter Weapons Pack is coming! In addition to the new weapons, there will also be a new level released called Ice Cave which is going to be part of Killing Floors Twisted Christmas Event which starts Dec 7th and runs through Jan 4th.
Killing Floor has come a long way since its days as a relatively awkward Unreal Tourament 2k4 mod. Rather than flare out and fade into obscurity like so many indie multiplayer shooters, it has risen again and again, becoming one of Valves own favorite holiday fixtures, and was even the focus of a great amount of attention during the Portal 2 Potato Pack event. Tripwire Interactive are nothing if not giving, either. December is here, and with it a free weekend for the game, starting tomorrow. On top of that, a horde of Christmas-themed monsters to slay (sleigh?), a boatload of new weapons to play with and even a new level and all for the price of free.

We know Steam just had their Autumn/Black Friday sale, but Tripwire Interactive has given CPG a heads up on another great deal coming soon. Killing Floor is going to be getting a free weekend on Steam from December 8th to the 11th. They havent said if the game is going to be discounted, but traditonal free weekend games have been 33% to 50% off.

Its fast paced action, teamwork integration and weapons that are enjoyable to destroy with, seared Killing Floor into my to game library. Constant updates and DLC packs since its release also help keep the title fresh, new and enjoyable.
