Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Valve sets Episode Two launch date

Mark it down in your diary now - October 9

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 will release on October 9th on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, Valve has reportedly confirmed.

According to Shacknews, the developer's multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2 and puzzle game Portal will launch alongside the second episode.

PC gamers will be able to download the games via Steam of course, while  Half-Life 2: The Orange Box will be made available at retail for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 thanks to EA. Orange Box contains the original Half-Life 2 and Episode One in addition to the new trio.

A Black Box version for PC was originally intended for release too - Black Box contained Episode Two, TF2 and Portal - but this was canned last month.
