Half-Life 2: Episode Three

Also known as: Half-Life II: Episode Three

We've been teased with Half-Life 2: Episode 3 a lot over the past few years, from rumors to concept art to shirts, but this most recent rumor might be the most interesting yet. According to a voice actor, Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is not only actually in the works, but he claims to have recorded voicework for it...

The “are they or aren't they” debate surrounding Valve's development of Half Life 3 has been stoked once more with the discovery of a Half Life 3 t-shirt reportedly worn in public by a Valve employee. We don't use italics lightly folks, this is a big deal.

The shirt was spotted at a recent industry gala by Uber Entertainment rep Chandana “Ekanaut” Ekanayake, who shared his findings last night, tweeting, “All I'm saying is I saw this at a local game developer event worn by a Valve employee.”

It's a given Valve will continue its Half Life saga at some point, but it's anyone's guess as to exactly how and in what decade it plans on doing so. Thankfully, this week brought us two new hints that Half Life: Episode 3 is indeed on the studio's radar. That, or Gabe Newell really likes to screw with fans...

Exercising the right to peaceably to assemble, two men were spotted yesterday outside of Valve's headquarters in Bellevue, Washington, protesting the absence of Half-Life 3. It's been seven years since Half-Life 2 was released, and since then only rumors of the third game have emerged from Valve’s mysterious office space...

Could it be? Could it really be? Yes. Yes it could. Sit yourselves down people, and regulate your breathing, because it looks like Valve's epic Portal 2 ARG might just be about to drop the motherlode.

That motherlode? Half-Life.

Yeah. Half-Life. Finally, blessedly, mercifully, after our years of frustration and faith, it looks like sweet, sweet Half-Life might be set for its next reveal. My feelings? Incandescent, explosive joy, obviously, and also a hint of smugness, because I called this one in an excitable semi-drunken tweet to Tyler Wilde the other night. If you want my (non-booze-related) reasoning for that tweet, and the evidence backing up this latest potential development, click on.

Those hankering for Half-Life 2: Episode 3 - or even the big HL3 itself - hold onto your butts: Valve has categorically stated that it will be releasing a new Gordon Freeman adventure.

Ever since his disbarment, the world of videogame news has been refreshingly Jack Thompson-free. Unfortunately, a new Source Engine mod by the name of School Shooter: North American Tour 2012 proved enough to bring everybody's least favorite ex-attorney out of hiding...

Chances are, if Hollywood ever get round to making a Half-Life movie, it'll be rubbish. Hell, we'll probably have to make do with Matthew Maconahay shoved into a pair of specs and Paris Hilton as the 'believably' brainy Ms. Vance. Thankfully, an enterprising deviantART poster called agentscarlet has envisioned a Half-Life 2: Episode Two movie in incredible poster form...
