Guild Wars

Throwing the "pay to play" model out the window

If forming a guild and taking on the best players around the world in team based PvP combat sounds appealing, then Guild Wars will certainly rock your world. Because of its design, your success depends more on the skills you choose and teamwork rather than having high level characters with ultra powerful equipment. But be warned. The PvP mode in Guild Wars has a steep learning curve and unless you form or join a guild that communicates well and takes things seriously, you can look forward to getting owned in an instant.

On the other hand, if you prefer casual questing and the occasional group, there’s still a lot to do with lots of co-op story missions, tons of side quests, and the gigantic continent of Tyria to explore. If looking for a group isn’t your style, you can always recruit henchmen – NPC characters who can fill your party – in any major city. While they aren’t the brightest, your henchmen’s levels are on par with yours and they’ll do a decent job of attacking your target and keeping you healed.

i like guild wars better simply because its free. paying monthly for a game you've already bought just seems like a waste of money to me. theres more to life than gaming... like food and shelter
