Not only have many key skills been buffed, but the nerfing of Ursan Blessing has finally happened. Plus, Guild versus Guild battles have been drastically changed. As with any gameplay changes, there are those who love it, and those who hate it.
Going from dark horse to multi-million seller, Guild Wars has been the Cinderella story of the MMO world, battling against the heavyweights of WoW and EverQuest II for supremacy - and holding its own. Art director Daniel Dociu certainly has got a lot to do with this success. Weve cornered him to find out more about how the look and styles of Guild Wars, and the new expansion pack Eye of the North, came about. All the while wondering where weve seen that face ...

Most MMO players know the story of IGE and Affinity Media by now, (the owners of WoWhead, Allakhazam, Thottbot and WoWinterface), and their relationship. A really interesting article popped up on Radar Online today which highlights some of the dodgy characters that are involved in the Affinity Media business which had claimed to have no involvement with IGE. Brock Pierce who is an advisor and a board member of Affinity Media, is highlighted in the above article and I have to say there's some pretty unsavoury stuff here pointing at child abuse. This has been brought up before regarding Brock Pierce who has apparently denied charges but there are filed legal cases which he has tried to settle.

In related news, there has been paperwork filed this week where IGE admits that it is Affinity Media (see additional link). Not that anyone doubted it. Next time you hit up an Affinity Media site, just think about who you are supporting and who's pockets your traffic is lining with cash.
After all, stories of shame are posted all over the internet. But we still find ourselves getting groped on a regular basis. And yes, we still find it hilarious.

We've collected our favorite encounters with sexually frustrated gamers barking up the wrong tree. The stories are real, but all names are made up to protect those involved from dying from plus 10 piercing damage ...
If you're not already a Guild Wars fan, then move along, as there's little reason for you to get started with Guild Wars: Eye of the North. Unlike ArenaNet's previous stand-alone campaigns - which were designed for both new players and seasoned vets - Eye of the North primarily caters to the most ardent Guild Wars fans with beefed up avatars.

Strangers to the series will feel like they walked into a movie halfway over, and won't get all the juicy references to past events, before ...
Whether you like the occasional quest, running dungeons on Hard mode for epic loot, helping your guild rise the PvP ranks, or starting your own naked dance orgy in town, the series has always been able to deliver - minus the monthly fees.

But while Guild Wars still looks great on the visual front when compared to World of Warcraft, its beginning to show subtle signs of aging. The more we ...
With no monthly fees, level grinding, and intense world class PvP play, the Guild Wars series has always stood apart from the rest of the MMO pack. But Guild Wars: Eye of the North, the last title in the original Guild Wars series, breaks from previous campaigns in a variety of ways:

It will cost less than a full-sized campaign at $39.99. The non-special edition of Nightfall retailed at $49.99, for example.

It will require players to own at least one previous Guild Wars game.

It will ...
On Tuesday NCSoft whispered in our ear about the bonuses Guild Wars disciples receive should they pre-order Eye of the North, and today it's entertaining us with a new trailer from the expansion.

Running for just shy of two minutes, you can feast your eyes on the trailer, oh... what the hell, right below.

It's great that Guild Wars creator ArenaNet is creating new content for fans of its MMO, but of course what we're really eager to see is Guild Wars 2. The developer's spoken quite openly ...
Things are about to change for Guild Wars fans as the August 31 release date for the series' first true expansion, Guild Wars: Eye of the North draws closer. Developer, ArenaNet is breaking ties with the formula they've followed for delivering new content in the past. Sure, there'll be more dungeons, quests, and heroes to collect. But don't expect to start off by leveling up two new professions.

ArenaNet feels that they've got enough professions for players to choose from right now. "Part of ...
Expected July 20, the pre-order pack will grant you access to a sneak peek weekend for Guild Wars: Eye of the North set to occur August 24-26. Youll also get your hands on these exclusive weapons: the Glacial Blade, the ...
Guild Wars expansion Eye of the North has been slapped with a release date of August 31 and will set you back $39.99.

Sticking with the Guild Wars subscription-free model, Eye of the North is compatible with any of the three previously released campaigns in the MMO series and new content includes 18 multi-level dungeons, 150 new skills across all ten Guild Wars professions, ten new heroes, 40 new armor sets and new items, weapons and titles.

The first trailer for Guild Wars: Eye of the North has finally released. The film features few monsters, and instead focuses on panning through some of the game's new dungeons. Astute fans will notice the mysterious portal at the end, which we can only assume, is an Asura Gate.

The Asura race is being introduced in Eye of the North, and they'll be playable in Guild Wars 2. The Asura are a smart, stout and cocky bunch who can most likely back it up - after all, they did build those spiffy ...
Until now, every Guild Wars game has been a standalone chapter, meaning that you didn't have to own any previous Guild Wars titles to play them. By throwing the traditional pay-to-play business model of MMOs out the window and giving both Guild Wars virgins and vets good reasons to buy each new chapter, ArenaNet has managed to cultivate an extremely loyal fan base. But by the time the third Guild Wars chapter, Nightfall released, leveling up yet another new class up to 20 was beginning to get ...
