After a few weeks of early preparation, the official Guild Wars website open the doors of the official Guild Wars Wiki. They invite everyone to join the GWW community and help them create a wonderful resource for Guild Wars players-now and into the future. Set up a user page. Edit an article. Create a new skin or upload images to flesh out one of the articles. Whatever your level of expertise, you have a contribution to make on the GWW! And if you'd rather simply use the GWW as a resource, you're very welcome, too. Dive into the Guild Wars Wiki through the main page using the 'read more' button.

PC - Guild Wars 2 - Guild Wars 2 Officially Announced

ArenaNet announced two more titles in their Guild War franchise.

The developer has also confirmed a full sequel to Guild Wars, and expects the game to go into beta "sometime in the second half of 2008." Unlike its predecessor, Guild Wars 2 will have a persistent world. Like its predecessor, the online game will not require a subscription to play.

Screenshots from Guild Wars: Eye of the North are letting our eyes rove over what ArenaNet is describing as "the first true expansion" for the Guild Wars franchise. Eye of the North was officially announced today. PC - Guild Wars 2 - Guild Wars 2 ditching campaign format

Information on Guild Wars 2 has appeared in the forums of website Guild Wars Guru, gleaned from the May issue of PC Gamer (US) which has extensive coverage on ArenaNet's MMOG series.

The lengthy post reveals considerable amounts, including the fact that ArenaNet is ditching the campaign format of Guild Wars for the sequel and that, as previously reported, a Guild Wars 2 beta is expected to begin in 2008.

It's mentioned the sequel will be set "Hundreds of years later, in Tyria", and that what are termed "radical" changes to be implement in GW2 include an "overhauled environment and character control system, redefined PvP play and retooled NPC companion system."
