The San Andreas machine keeps on rollin' and remains at number one with incredible second week sales following in the wake of its record-breaking debut. In just nine days, the game has sold around a million units in the UK alone. It shifted more copies in its second week than the first week sales of the previous record holder, GTA: Vice City. And, get this, it's already the fourth biggest selling PS2 game of all time in the UK.

The other big news is the arrival of Sports Interactive's Football Manager 2005 at number three, their first footie sim since the Champ Man creators split with publisher Eidos (who are releasing their in-house developed Champ Man 5 in the new year).

The top five fastest-selling PC titles on record are now Champ Man 4, The Sims 2, Champ Man: Season 01/02, Champ Man 3 and Football Manager 2005. As impressive as Football Manager 2005's debut is, you can't help but look at that list and feel that the loss of the brand name has affected sales.

The rest of the charts are uneventful apart from EA's latest hobbit offering, Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, coming in at 12, and THQ's Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase re-entering at 18 thanks to GBA budget pricing.

In a week of big releases, the overshadowing event is the arrival of Halo 2 on Thursday (11 November). It will be huge - but can it topple GTA: San Andreas? Other titles to look out for include The Getaway: Black Monday, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Ratchet and Clank 3, WWE Smackdown vs Raw, The Legend Of Zelda The Minish Cap, The Urbz, Men of Valor: The Vietnam War and Premier Manager 2004-2005.
