From Playfuls.com: "The open-world, free-roaming RPG is heading to next-gen consoles too, making Gothic 4 the first title in the franchise to leap outside the previously exclusive PC environment."
Eurogamer report that JoWooD has named Spellbound Entertainment as the new developer for Gothic 4, following its spat with original creator Piranha Bytes. This next role-playing instalment will be heading to console for the first time in the series, alongside PC, and with a date expected soon.
Today JoWood let the world know they're in the process of "promising negotiations" with a new developer for Gothic 4. The long-running action RPG series' development had previously been handled by Pluto 13, also known as Pirahna Bytes, a company apparently now left out in the cold. There was no mention as to who the prospective new developers could be, so there's no real release window for this one yet. For now, Gothic 4 is planned as a console and PC project, a shift from the series' previous PC exclusivity.
