A crippling bug that prevented anyone, anywhere from playing the game has finally been fixed according to Epic.
Quite recently, all Gears of War PC players were getting a "You cannot run this game with modified executable code, please reinstall" error. The solution was to set your clock back to sometime before January 27th 2008.
Users on the Gears of War official forums are reporting that the digital certificates for the game have expired, as of 28th January 2009. This means that the game will not launch at a system date post-28th Jan.

The success surrounding the popular Xbox 360/PC shooter Gears of War has led to the creation of a comic book based on the game's universe. It's officially been confirmed that DC Comics partnered with Epic Games to publish a Gears of War comic book series, which is "slated to debut from DC's WildStorm publishing imprint in October."
