How WWIII will be won by remote control

Listen: Frontlines is not a political statement. Yes, it takes place in a not-too-distant future. Yes, the scenario of the Caspian Sea’s oil reserves being plundered by rival coalitions from the West and East is actually fairly believable. And yes, it’s jammed with futuristic tech - including remote controlled airborne drones - that’s close to actually being on the market. But this isn’t some plea to save oil and recycle: it’s difficult to take environmental concerns seriously when you’re razzing around in a jeep, firing nuclear bombs at will.

If the idea of battling through urban sprawl and bagging check points gets your trigger-finger twitching, that’s probably because you’ve played the Battlefield series. New studio Kaos is no stranger to the franchise themselves - several of the team, including producer Frank DeLise, worked on Desert Combat - the  popular PC mod of the game. It looks like they’re sticking to what they know best.
