Politically charged 360/PS3/PC shooter announced for next year

Frontlines: Fuel of War has been announced today for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. This first-person shooter focuses on a near-future, near-already-happening scenario in which the world has been divided into two warring factions that compete for precious fossil fuels. 

Developed by some of the dudes responsible for bringing us the immensely popular Battlefield 2, Frontlines: Fuel of War promises the kind of multi-player, non-linear experience we've come to expect from our new gaming hardware. "The game focuses on the cutting edge in military technology that will allow players to experience the highly-charged frontlines of tomorrow, today," said Frank DeLise, general manager of Kaos Studios. Boasting over 60 vehicles and other modern war-machine twists, such as remote-controlled recon drones, Frontlines hopes to be the next leap forward in FPS evolution.

We'll be waiting patiently for at least another year, though, as Frontlines: Fuel of War won't see shelves until sometime in fall 2007.
