CyberSports has announced that a boxed retail version of the MMO, Football Superstars, will go on sale in the third financial quarter of 2009. The box set will offer gamers a host of new features including the ability to attend a gym, buy licensed products from Puma and Reebok, be interviewed by the press, buy expensive clothes and dine in the best restaurants. The news comes as the firm ramps up development on its flagship MMO title Football Superstars and begins work on two as-yet-undisclosed projects. Monumental detailed the recent hiring of game director Ron Harris, a 20 year industry veteran who has held senior management roles at Sony, EA and Codemasters, and of Ewan Lamont, previously production manager of pen and paper RPG Warhammer Fantasy Role Play 2nd Edition, who has joined the developer as project lead.
