Reckless destruction and gross bodily harm are two things were fond of in our games and FlatOut 2 delivers plenty of both. The focus here isnt so much on racing as it is on aggressive driving and destructible environments - cars will wreck, gas stations will explode and hordes of orange cones will go flipping through the air. And all this chaos runs surprisingly well, even on a system that meets only the minimum system requirements.

Tracks are littered with dangerous obstacles and brutal ...
The sequel to the crash-happy racer FlatOut will careen into stores next month, and unlike the original - which was notable mainly for sending your driver flying through the windshield at the drop of a hat - FlatOut 2 looks to have plenty to help it stand out.

For starters, the game looks beautiful. Sure, it starts you off racing junkers on dirt tracks, but there's a lot of detail packed into everything you see. Your car, for instance, sports nice-looking light reflections when it's pristine, ...
Monday 5 June 2006
We've got the latest shots of FlatOut 2 - the game for those who like to drive without due care and attention. The sequel manages to combine over-the-top action with incredible physics, the resulting experience being a brutish hard-hitting racer that's more sophisticated than you'd think.

They'll be 40 tracks to batter around, each one made up a destructible environment that allows you to cut corners wherever you see fit. Each of the 16 cars is fully destructible but, ...
The only thing better than tearing ass around a racetrack is doing it with murderous intent. That's why we like these nasty new screens from FlatOut 2 - they put the car in carnage. While the game will certainly get a lot of attention for its sadistic minigames, there's still a track-based demolition racer in there, too, and these new screens show more of that core gameplay. Vivendi plans to release FlatOut 2 in July, so we expect more grisly glimpses between now and then.

Last year's racer FlatOut is remembered mainly for two things: drivers who went flying violently through the windshield with every serious collision, and minigames that revolved around how far you could launch your driver out of the car. Some critics dismissed the actual racing as unremarkable, but the horrible-accident minigames stood out so well that the game is getting a sequel.

FlatOut 2 features everything a good sequel should: more cars, more varied tracks, more personality and twice as ...
Empire Interactive has released details and shots of FlatOut 2, the sequel to its extreme racing game that combined detail and tight physics with over the top action.

Developer Bugbear Entertainment has taken the predictable bigger and better approach to FlatOut 2, and so has included twice as many new cars, nearly double the number of tracks, a new and improved Championship mode and six new minigames, which usually involve hurling your driver through the windscreen so you can admire the ...
