Fallout fansite No Mutants Allowed has posted a tech demo of Van Buren, Black Isle Studios' Fallout 3 project that was cancelled in late 2003. Speaking about the contents of the tech demo, the fansite explained, "Don't forget that this is a pre-alpha tech demo from 2003: the combat is pretty much unimplemented (sucky realtime only), the graphics are really basic." PC - Fallout 3 - Fallout license changes hands Gamasutra has gotten word of new filings with the SEC show that Oblivion and current Fallout 3 developer Bethesda Softworks has officially purchased the Fallout series IP from current holders Interplay for $5.75 million, with Interplay now acting as licensee for its own planned Fallout MMO.

PC - Fallout 3 - First look at Fallout 3 In spite of two spin-offs (Fallout Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel), gamers have been waiting almost ten years for the third instalment in the series, and it looked like it would never happen after Interplay went bankrupt

Thankfully, The Elder Scrolls publisher Bethesda Softworks stepped in and bought the rights to develop Fallout 3, announcing it had commenced work on the title in 2004 and that it is using the same game engine as Oblivion.
