Window to WoW, week fifteen

So many mods, so little time

Words: Sarah Joynt-Borger, GamesRadar US

  1. SWStats (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/2091/): Pretty much for bragging rights (though raid leaders can find it useful as a way to see how well people play their class, we have an issue with it as a judging tool when it is the sole factor in a decision). SW Stats is an easy-to-sync-and-display, regularly updated damage and heal meter. So far, the most reliable damage meter we've found.

  2. Auctioneer (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/78/): Gone are the days of mousing over an item, memorizing the spelling, typing into the auction house search field and carefully comparing prices. Auctioneer does it for you, just scan daily (about a 15-minute process) and alt+right click your way to auction ease.

  3. Guild Mailing List (http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/3153/): At last! You too can be a spammer! Let's you send out an in-game mail to multiple recipients simultaneously. Good for pestering people to show up to raids on time or keeping friends up to date without the tedious cut and paste. Can sort by guild, friends list, level, time on line, all kinds of nifty fields. Go and annoy thy friends!

  4. Outfitter (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/4784/): Similar to Itemrack, the difference between the two is tiny, it comes down to personal preference. Allows you to sort outfits based on pre-set or tailored specs, then quickly switch clothes with one mouse click. Also has a 'get naked' option for those less than perfect boss tries.

These are just a few of our favorites. We haven't even touched on the UI mods like CTMod  (www.ctmod.net) and Titan (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/618/). UI mods are a personal choice, and the pro's and cons could be a column in and of itself. Also, craft mods like RecipeBook (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/664/) and Book of Crafts (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/1014/) help keep track of what your toons can and can't make and can help your crafted items.

Next Week: The Few. The Proud. The Guild Leaders.  In the meantime, head over to our Window to WoW Archives, if you need to brush up on your Black Temple strategies.
