The Massively Multi-player Online (MMO) Sports game arena that is Empire of Sports has announced the launch of a number of new features this weekend, including the high-anticipated option to enter Tennis doubles tournaments and the forthcoming schedule of events. Along with the launch of a brand new website, revisions to the club structure and doubles tournaments are available now.

Empire of Sports, the first virtual world entirely dedicated to sport, and NOMIS have today announced a unique partnership. NOMIS, whose design marks arguably the biggest progression in football boot innovation for decades, will soon be able to demonstrate the amazing performances of its boots to Empire of Sports' players.

The new UK location will allow English-speaking players to meet and plot their achievements within Empire of Sports. While former Liverpool and Juventus striker, Rush, will be featured in-game as a Non-Playable Character (NPC), where he will be on standby to issue all players with special missions and reward them with new tricks.

FC Barcelona has further enriched its partnership and involvement with Empire of Sports by throwing open the doors to the new 'VIP room'. The VIP room will be situated within the resident virtual Barça club house and will provide subscribers with all kinds of exclusive benefits, such as a complete Barça strip for their avatar, reserved missions, events and competitions.

Empire of Sports, the first 3D MCM (Massively Connected Multisport) game, has today announced a partnership with the International Federation of Bobsleigh and Tobogganing (FIBT) to host the first Virtual World Skeleton Championships online ever. This tournament will be held in Empire of Sports until 28th March 2009. Skeleton is an extreme winter sport in which athletes have to quickly run down icy tracks on gravity-powered sleds. Skeleton requires the athlete to be in a particular position during the race, as a player's chin is millimetres far from the ice below. This discipline has been an international sport for over 100 years and has just been introduced to the Winter Olympics.

Empire of Sports is an online universe entirely dedicated to sports-based game play, including tennis, football, skiing, bobsleigh, basketball as well as track and field.

F4 today announced that Empire of Sports now includes a new playable environment offering players the rustic charm of French cities with tiny cobbled streets and sophisticated chic architecture. The cities within Empire of Sports serve as a central meeting place, in which players can meet up to socialise before and after sporting events as well as to challenge each other to various sporting activities such as tennis, basketball, athletics and skiing. France will serve as the focal point for French-speaking players to gather and communicate in their native language, while the UK will remain as the home of English-speaking athletes within the Empire.

IncGamers are reporting that Multisports MMO 'Empire of Sports' is celebrating its closed beta 'Private Launch' with a wallpaper contest for members.

To celebrate the launch of Eurogamer's MMO channel, they've teamed up with the developers of massively multiplayer sports game Empire of Sports to offer 2000 pairs of keys to the game's Private Launch phase. EoS sees players roll sports-people rather than warriors and train to compete online against others in tennis, basketball, skiing, bobsleigh and track and field, with football (soccer) launching soon.
