PC - Demigod - Demigod Status Update Brad Wardell's back with bug news, piracy clarification, downloadable content promises, and a whole lot more:

Well, what a dramatic week it's been. The teams at Stardock and GPG have been burning the midnight oil this week.

But here's the thing: While piracy is annoying, you can't blame piracy for this problem. Let's face it, there's plenty of data out there about how many pirated games are being played. We should have looked at that. We assumed since Sins of a Solar Empire and Galactic Civilizations, both of which sold extremely well and got great reviews, that the # of pirated copies of Demigod in use would probably be in the same ballpark, maybe twice as much. But had we looked at what other publishers have said, we would have known that it's not unusual for there to be hundreds of thousands of warez copies in use.

PC - Demigod - 1UP: Demigod Review Postponed on Account of Game Don't Work 1UP writes:
"I'm not reviewing Demigod. Well, not today, anyway. At the moment the only reliable way of playing is in a single player match against bots, which is more of a tease than anything. Evaluating it on that basis wouldn't be doing it much justice. Still, I think people should have a heads up before they buy the game. At the time of this writing Demigod is, in a word: busted."

PC - Demigod - Demigod Collector's Edition features; system requirements revealed? Gamestop's web site sometimes yields a few interestesting items. One of them is the official reveal of a Collector's Edition for Demigod, the upcoming action-strategy-RPG hybrid game from developer Gas Powered Games and publisher Stardock. Priced at $49.99 ($10 more than the standard version) the Collector's Edition will contain a music soundtrack CD, a poster and a pewter figurine.

PC - Demigod - Demigod Delayed until 2009, Summer Beta Detailed; Stardock to Publish with No Copy Protection Shacknews is reporting that Gas Powered Games' RTS-RPG hybrid Demigod (PC) has been delayed into 2009 and will be published by digital and retail distributor Stardock, the two companies announced today.

Previously expected to arrive in fall 2008, Demigod was pushed to February 2009 in order to integrate feedback from the forthcoming summer public beta test. The game puts players in control of a massive golem, tasked with destroying an opponents army before the same fate befalls their army.

As with Ironclad Games' Stardock-published RTS Sins of a Solar Empire (PC), Demigod will not sport any type of on-disc copy protection. The companies also noted that the game has been budgeted for "many months of free post-release feature updates."
