PC - Dead Space - Dead Space: First verdict spotted CVG reports: "The first verdict for EA's impressive survival horror game is in - and the score should keep fans excited. The latest Xbox World 360 mag, on shelves today, awards the survival horror game 91%, claiming that Resident Evil developer Capcom should take note, "Because EA can teach them a thing or three about survival horror."

Exploring the decks of the Ishimura is a "nail-biting experience," says the mag, driven forward by the "film-worthy" script and "inspired" setting. "It's Rapture in space: every bit as disturbing, just as meticulously designed and easily as believable."

PC - Dead Space - Dead Space web-site updated with new tale of despair PS3 Attitude's Brodiesan writes:

"[... ]we are now entering the unnerving setting of the second episodic story of dismay and (if going by the first story is any indication) dismemberment on board the troubled mining ship Ishimura.

Story "13" starts today (though it might have been up late yesterday for you PST guys, let us know) and can be found by clicking on the fifth sector from the hub's navi-bar. Or, you know, you could always choose the mutated hand with the talon sticking out of its palm. Whatever takes your fancy."

PC - Dead Space - EA: Dead Space wouldn't have happened a few years ago An EA game like Dead Space simply "wouldn't have happened" prior to the company's change of strategy two years ago, gameplay engineer David Yee has told VideoGamer.com. Following his appointment in 2007, CEO John Riccitiello has encouraged a focus on original intellectual properties - a move which has proved popular among the design staff, according to Yee.

"It was easy from our standpoint on the ground to be like, "Well, we're not really too sure. This new guy just came back in" [to the company]. But we've really seen that, over the course of Dead Space. A few years ago Dead Space would have been... there's no chance it would have happened. And we're seeing lots of other opportunities where people are able to explore doing new and original IP, which is really exciting."

PC - Dead Space - Gamepro: EA's Dead Space moves up release date to October 24 Gamepro: Electronic Arts today announced that upcoming space-borne survival horror title Dead Space will be coming to store shelves earlier than advertised.

The previous release date, October 31, coincided with spooky holiday Halloween in the States. Perhaps it was too scary a coincidence however, as the new date is more than a week earlier, on October 21. The UK release will be October 24, and the PC version is still set to arrive on October 31.

"The decision to bring it to fans earlier was due to completing the game early," read a release from EA's UK offices.

PC - Dead Space - Aeropause Visits EA for Dead Space Community Days Aeropause, along with several other blog and horror sites, got a chance to head up to EA Redwood City to see and play through their new upcoming Survival Horror title, Dead Space. Along the way, we had time with the development team and producer for Dead Space.

"Gameplay has been quite nice, with Dead Space definitely taking a cue from several horror and space faring movies, yet putting a unique spin on the whole genre. Our time was split over three diffferent levels of the game. The first segment was embargoed, but it involved the first level of the game, and was a lot of fun, but not much else can be said at this time. Our second segment focused on the different weapons you can get in the game, upgrades that can be added to your suit at Upgrade Workbenches, and new and improved types of creatures for you to attack."nnel.

PC - Dead Space - Dead Space cosplay rocks my pants That VideoGame Blog: "But possibly the coolest thing, aside from the game itself, wasn't even a part of marketing the game to us, it was just something one really passionate developer on the game did. Chuck Beaver is a producer for the game, but he's also a bit of a cosplayer, so on his own free time he put together a truly amazing Isaac cosplay."
