Direct2Drive has revealed its deal of the week, offering up IGF 2008 Grand Prize Winner Crayon Physics Deluxe for 50% off the standard price.
Direct2Drive has discounted The Best of Indie Bundle Volume 2 to the tune of 75% off the standard price. Typically going at a shade under $100, the game bundle that packs seven solid to great titles is currently being offered up for just $25, coming out to around $3.50 a game.
10 indie games for 75% off. Includes Braid, World of Goo, Everyday Shooter and more for only $29.99. A separate 5-pack of games is 66% off if you're not into all 10.
Crayon Physics Deluxe, which won the grand prize at last year's Independent Games Festival, is now available on Steam for $19.99.
In a humorous speech on the Monday of the Independent Games Summit, Kloonigames' Petri Purho talked about what he learned in creating IGF 2008 Grand Prize Winner Crayon Physics Deluxe, stressing the importance of rapid prototyping in its genesis. As he noted in the speech, doing prototypes really worked out well for me, and it also gave him a hint towards which of his seven-day-created Kloonigames freeware games would break out, based on download counts. He averaged 2,000-3,000 downloads of his previous prototypes, until the Crayon Physics prototype did around 25,000 free downloads in one month, and increased again to 250,000 when his YouTube demonstration of the game became incredibly popular.
