Counter Strike's side arm shuffle

Pistols to be made "more effective"

Valve has revealed plans to make several pistol weapons in Counter Strike: Source "more effective," in response to an imbalance in the team-play shooter caused by the new weapon pricing system.

In Counter Strike's new setup, popular weapons have their in-game price increased, while weapons that players ignore are lowered in value. As any veteran of CS will know, there's only one pistol really worth buying - Desert Eagle - which has led to the powerful side arm reaching a price that even developer Valve calls "somewhat out of control."

To solve the problem, Valve plans to make the Five Seven, P228 and Dual Elites pistol choices "more effective" - a change that should kick off within the next few days.

Has Valve messed too much with the previous perfect balance of Counter Strike? Is the new pricing system deterring you from another round of de_dust2? Why not head over to our forum and let us know?
