Indie developer brings back classic assassination match

From this Wednesday players of Counter Strike: Source will be able to download the VIP Mod, an independently developed add-on for the game which resurrects VIP mode, a much loved match-type from the original Counter Strike that wasn't included in the Source-powered update.

One counterterrorist player acts as the VIP, a pistol-carrying character who must be protected by team mates and shepherded to an extraction point on the other side of the level.

Terrorists, on the other hand, need to assassinate the VIP to win the match. It makes for notably different Counter Strike matches, heavy on teamwork and bloody ambushes.

You can download the VIP Mod from www.punkassfraggers.com, and the mod goes live on 15 February
