CSS SCI FI is a single-player Half-Life 2 mod that puts players in the shoes of an augmented clone of Gordon Freeman. The player must fight time-travelling Combine forces and other enemies in intense combat missions set in Counter-Strike: Source maps.
Each map contains a unique scripted scenario enhanced by random scripting so the game is never the same twice.

Valve, being the kind and generous folks they are, will be giving purchasers of the censored German version of Left 4 Dead 2 a 50% chance of having five different Counter-Strike weapons spawn in their game. The weapons aren't simply reskins but rather have their own unique stats. The spawning works the same way the baseball bat pre-order works: if a player with the censored German version joins a game, the entire server will receive the weapons. It seems that at least one member of Valve would love to see a new edition of Counter Strike. At a Left 4 Dead 2 press event earlier this week VideoGamer.com pressed Valve writer Chet Faliszek about a possible return for the excellent team-based shooter.
"Personally, I would like to see some more Counter Strike. Left 4 Dead made me stop playing that for a while, I was just concentrating on that. I used to play a lot of Day of Defeat! I still go back and play some."

Gaming frustration has claimed another life, in Novosibirsk, Russia. An innocent two-player Counter-Strike game turned ugly when Alexei, aged 17, was brutally murdered by Alexander, his 14-year-old opponent.
The Novosibirsk Prosecutor's Office website states that the two boys lads were playing Counter-Strike together at a local cyber café.
