The basic infantry unit is "a cloud of swirling, intelligent razorblades." Higher up the pecking order are "tripod walker things" with "medusa-like tentacles tipped with independently targeting lasers." Higher still, vast airborne aircraft carriers and motherships that can snuff out enemy bases in seconds.
Just because the old factions inherit quite a few units from Tiberian Sun and seem to fit familiar niches, doesn’t mean they don’t have interesting recruits too. The Nod field a walker that can accessorize itself by reaching down and ripping parts from nearby friendlies. Take a flamethrower from a flame tank and a stealth generator from a stealth tank and you’ve got a 40-foot-tall fire-breathing stomper that can disappear on demand. Should a GDI player take down one of these tricked-out giants, he can repair the wreck with an engineer and use it against its former owners.
What else is on the cards? Naturally there will be loads of cheesy-but-brilliant FMV cutscenes. The campaigns will be linear affairs with some limited scenario choice within the sequences. Multiplayer is being designed with pro competition and spectating in mind, although those who play against the computer will be able to throw down with various personalities including "Turtling Coward" and "Rushing Bastard." Awesome.
