We've got the latest shots of realtime strategy sequel Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, and they clearly illustrate the effect that the game's main resource, Tiberium, has on your planet - it turns it a bit greeny.

This latest instalment of the hugely successful RTS series is set in 2047, where the strange alien mineral is slowly consuming the planet, destroying the natural environment and leaving the affected areas barren and a lovely emerald colour.

The spread of Tiberium means life in the war-torn Yellow Zones is particularly hard as food is scarce and medical help is non-existent, which is a major problem as many civilians are dying from inhaling mineral particles in the air.

And if the Tiberium doesn't get you, there's a good chance of becoming caught up in the ongoing conflict between the Global Defence Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod. Tiberium Wars will be released for PC early next year.
