The plasmids Security Bullseye and Hypnotize Big Daddy make the environs work to your benefit. We spent a good hour just painting enemies with Security Bullseye and then tripping alarms to watch the ensuing carnage.

Hypnotize Big Daddy makes the lumbering leviathan into your guardian - he sees you as his "Little Sister" to be protected at all costs. Another great plasmid for turning enemies against each other is Enrage. Like Insect Swarm, it's most useful against multiple targets (using Enrage against a lone enemy will just make him attack you!)
