If your anything like me then you have been waiting and wondering when the Battlefield Heroes Beta would return to action. Well wait no more (ok, well maybe like 12hours), it will finally be back online Wed, Feb 11th as seen on their official website. Anyone that has a beta key already will be able to log on to the beta servers starting tomorrow.

VG247: Electronic Arts has told videogaming247 that news regarding a release date for its free-to-play multiplayer shooter, Battlefield Heroes, will be announced "soon."
It would seem that EA have opened the doors for a limited time to their upcoming dabble in the micro-transactions market. Brutalgamer.com are running a piece on the newly opened Beta and have the details on how to sign up.
The next round of free-to-play multiplayer shooter Battlefield Heroes's closed beta is set to open soon. Interested players can now head over to the game's official website to sign up for a chance to be selected.

EA developers from the South Korean firm Neowiz have hinted at the possibility that another play-for-free Battlefield title could be in the works for release later this year.

Work continues on Battlefield Heroes despite the recent closure of the game's beta, and producer Aleksander Grondal recently talked it up with Gamasutra. Grondal isn't a Battlefield developer veteran, instead having previously worked on Anarchy Online and Dreamfall at Funcom. As such, he brings a different mentality to the team working on Heroes, which he claims is a mixture of half newcomers to the series and half previous Battlefield developers.

I look at this video and all I could think was "Hey, somebody spilled some Pixar on my Battlefield game!" If you are a one of the niche fans of Rocket Launchers and kilts, your in luck. I can't wait to be able to get my hands on this free first person shooter from the same folks that have brought us the uber-successful Battlefield franchise. Cheers to DICE and here's to hoping there is alot more where this came from.
Acclaim Inc founder and development veteran David Perry has told GamesIndustry.biz that he believes forthcoming Electronic Arts title Battlefield Heroes will be "a huge hit" and that he has "incredible faith that EA is going to pull this off."
Running from enemy gun turrets, tanks and fighter planes is nothing new for players of "Battlefield," a franchise that fired its first shot in World War II but has since tackled Vietnam and modern combat. Its most recent tour of duty, "Battlefield: Bad Company," has sold 1.6 million units worldwide since June.
