The system requirements of the PC versions of Bad company 2 and Battlefield 1943 have been revealed. Both games are based on the current version of the Frostbite Engine. The minimal specs list a Core 2 Duo with at least 2 GHz and Geforce 7800 GT or Ati X1900. Recommended are a quad-core CPU and a Geforce GTX 260.

While not that shocking, DICE has confirmed that BFBC2 will not support Games for Windows Live features. This means PC gamers will have to make do with web stats, ranks and badges instead of achievements. Rather than calling for a boycott, this will likely have PC gamers saying amen.

While Infinity Ward continues its cone of silence on the PC dedicated server issue for Modern Warfare 2, its rival developer Digital Illusions continues to (indirectly) hammer on the fact that their upcoming shooter Battlefield Bad Company 2 will support such servers in their March 2010 game. The latest shot across the bow comes on the game's official blog site where they reproduce a fan letter from a gamer who sent in the $60 he would have spent on Modern Warfare 2.
