The Battlefield Podcast will reach its 100th episode this Saturday, June 28th, 2008. To celebrate this event, the show will be streamed online at www.tuxmedia.tv/live beginning at 2pm PST and lasting for several hours.
The Battlefield Portal states: "After a successful open beta phase of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50 and tweaks and updates being made based on feedback on the forums we have released the final version of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Servers are being updated and the client files are now available for you to update and get into the new content.
The BF Portal states: "Starting today you can be part of the Beta phase of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Update 1.50 is a big step for Battlefield as it is the first time we have included community created maps and included them into an update. Wake Island makes a come back thanks to The Sir. Community and appears alongside a brand new map new to Battlefield created by Jason Brice, Operation Shingle. Also, for those who prefer to fight on foot, we have added a No Vehicle option to a number of maps to allow you to fight without worrying if you'll come face to face with a Battle Walker. Also, as requested by match broadcasting groups we have separated the Commanders voice volume from the Sound Effects so you can keep the explosions and gun fire without the Commander interrupting the broadcast.
Last week, Novint and Electronic Arts exclusively revealed to Newsweek's Level Up their agreement by which Novint will license several EA games, which Novint will then patch to support its Falcon peripheral. The titles which are being modified include Madden NFL 08, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, Need For Speed ProStreet, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142. Each of this titles has been previously released, but Novint CEO Tom Anderson hinted that the company might support EA's as-yet unannounced Need For Speed title for 2008.

For those of you who haven't heard, several days ago EA confirmed a leak in which client files for the upcoming booster pack, Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike, were found circulating on the internet. Now EA is attempting to stop the leak by blacklisting server IP's which have been found to be using the leaked Northern Strike map. The news came from our server partner, Branzone, who urged customers to remove any Northern Strike maps from their server to avoid problems.
The beta test of patch 1.20 was released for public testing yesterday (Friday 2nd Feb).

Battlefield gamers beware: by opening a copy of Battlefield 2142 and participating in a game requiring Internet access, you're agreeing to have Electronic Arts and one of their in-game advertising associates, IGA Worldwide, study you. A printed disclaimer provided with the game states the game will be monitoring "advertising data" to determine what ads are serviced to individual players.
