'I'm not really allowed to comment on that, but there are definitely lots of exciting stories to tell in Batman's world, and I can say that we're really privileged to work on it, and excited about future possibilities.'"

During recent days, you could see a fierce battle between AMD and Nvidia PR teams over Batman: Arkham Asylum and the fact that PhysX and AA works only when you run it on Nvidia GPUs, while on AMD cards the game worked, but without the in-game AA.

Nvidia's team worked with developers and designed the AA engine by themselves. That's a clear fact, and thus the game does indeed look better when paired up with an Nvidia GPU. On the other hand, AMD's PR team is adamant that Nvidia had a lot to do with the fact that the game simply doesn't like AMD GPUs. According to a statement made by AMD's Ian McNaughton, AMD did provide the developer with a solution, but it didn't make its way into the final release of the game.

Fudzilla: As we already wrote before, Nvidia is putting a lot of backing behind Batman: Arkham Asylum game, and according to what we have seen, this is the first game where PhysX actually matters and brings some benefit. It doesn't come as a surprise that Nvidia partners will start to announce their Batman: Arkham Asylum bundles and Point of View is the first one to get these to the European market, in the guise of Point of View's GTX 275 Joker Edition.

The card is basically the same old Nvidia Geforce GTX 275 with 240 stream processors, working at 633MHz for the core, 2268MHz for 896MB of GDDR3 memory, and 1404MHz for shaders. It has a 448-bit memory interface and supports DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, Nvidia SLI, and of course PhysX, something that this bundle is all about.

"One of the updates that was added in the last Games for Windows LIVE client update was the ability for developers to create an in-game marketplace front end. The first game that has seemed to take advantage of this is Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Thursday, we had the announced free DLC for Batman: Arkham Asylum released, so I decided to take the plunge and download the DLC via the in-game marketplace. While you can download it via the standalone client, I figured why leave the game if I can get it in there."

"When I arrived at work on Monday (at Fry's Electronics), I instantly noticed some interesting ID cards scattered about my PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 aisles. You can get the game on Amazon.com for $51.99, eight dollars off the PS3 version's regular price of $59.99. Considering that Amazon offers free shipping on all orders over $25, this is a pretty sweet deal."
There's no need to pull out your handy Bat-Price-Reducer either. You need only place a pre-order for the Xbox 360 or PS3 version. Then, at checkout, simply enter the code 5OFFARKM for five smackers off Amazon's asking price of $52.99. Using free shipping, that's a brand new copy for $48. Even better, using the same coupon, the PC version can be had for only $40.

The RAM Raider:

Unlike RAM Raider's no-longer-regularly-updated blog, corruption in the games industry has so far failed to go into hibernation. In the week that Eidos has breathed its last, they've decided to go out with a bang by brazenly attempting to artificially hype up their forthcoming Arkham Asylum release.

Several mags have their review code already, but have to sit on their reviews until a hateful embargo expires at the end of the month. But Eidos, ever the helpful fellows that they are, have been offering a way around this embargo. If you dedicate the cover of your mag to Arkham Asylum and guarantee a score of at least 90%, Eidos will allow you to run the review early.
Well, it seems the Dark Knight won't be killing anyone in the game.
Batman: Arkham Asylum Does Games For Windows Live (News)

The official Games For Windows website proudly announces that the PC version of Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Asylum will be a Games for Windows Live title.

This means Games for Windows Live players of Batman: Arkham Asylum will be able to earn Gamerscore points by unlocking achievements, and really that's about it. There's Live connectivity, but being a single player game, Arkham Asylum really doesn't get much of a boost from this.

Still, it is good to see more PC titles slipping under the Games for Window Live banner. Of all of the games released as part of the Games for Windows brand, only 15 so far have been Live-enabled. With DIRT 2, Battlestations Pacific, Fuel, Stromrise, and now Batman: Arkham Asylum all due out this year for Games for Windows Live, the service seems to slowly been picking up steam. Fingers crossed, Games for Windows Live!
Yes, we saw the movie (four times, thanks, and that's not counting IMAX viewings); yes, we loved it. But what are the chances a rushed-through-development movie tie-in would have actually been good? ...

From the ace 1989 Tim Burton gothic epic that grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars domestically to the franchise-murdering Joel Schumacher colour-saturated camp-fest Batman & Robin that barely limped past the $100 million marker, Bruce Wayne and his crime-fighting alter-ego haven’t had it easy. ...
