Then we stop. Our wings are still spread, but we’ve hit a huge invisible wall. PARP! PARP! ...

Gamervision reports: "One of the many innovations in NCSoft's Aion: Tower of Eternity is the ability to set up shop. Sure, it's been done before in different ways, but most other MMORPGs keep trading limited to Auction Houses and spamming the chat channels. In Aion, all an entrepreneur needs to do is hit "Y" and choose prices, dropping down a pole and marking themselves as a vendor. It's wonderfully simplistic, and should help keep Aion's in-game economy bustling. It also has a second function: tricking the game into thinking you're not idle.

NCSoft hopes to solve the lines by removing this abuse of their good nature. In a patch today, they've set a 30 minute marker on idle players, which should stop the huge amount of people using the shops as a way to avoid getting kicked offline.

They've also added another West Coast server to the game, which will be followed by another East Coast and European server. These additions should help the issue even more. We'll update if is any more info, but it looks like NCSoft might have found a way to help their MMO's growing pains. Good for them."
So it is no surprise that the average wait time per server is 3 hours and there are over 2,500 in the que ahead of you.

Check out the server status, watch the launch trailer, and get more up to date information.
The official forums are flooded with complaints over insanely large queues for an event that was supposed to allow people that pre-ordered the game to play two days early with a pre-registered character.

While this is fairly typical of MMOs (and this isn't even technically a true launch), it seems like NCSoft wasn't able to meet the initial demand despite pre-order and pre-registration statistics. Whether this problem will carry over to launch day come this Tuesday is yet to be seen."

"The week ending on September 12th was huge when it came to gaming media and news… more-so media than news, though. We have a fairly big offering of Media Blowouts this week, ranging from Left 4 Dead 2, Shank, the time-traveling FPS Darkest of Days and Forza Motorsport 3. Speaking of Forza new demo info was released now that the game has gone gold and that only spells good news for racing fans. Did I also happen to mention we have an exclusive interview with the Aion design team? Yeah well that's in here, too. Probably the most shocking news of the week, however, came in the form of RedSpot announcing that they have a new Dreamcast game on the way. You'll have to see the game to believe it. These stories and more in the Blend Games Weekly Recap."

"Turns out Dragon Age: Origins is suffering from the Section 8 complex insofar that PS3 gamers will be left in the gutter. News about the Halo movie have surfaced, or more-so why the movie itself won't be surfacing. A new debut trailer was recently made available for the innovative new Aspyr shooter, DreamKiller and id Software's Rage, and Nintendo announced that they are going to win back hardcore gamers with an inflatable horse. Way to go Nintendo, you really know how to hit all the right notes for keeping the fans pleased.

NCsoft has just revealed another batch of class-centric screenshots for must-play MMO Aion: The Tower of Eternity. This time they're focusing on the agile Scout, specifically the sub-classes of the Assassin and the Ranger. Perhaps the nicest thing is the fact that the screenshots include both Elyos and Asmodian Daeva.

With Closed Beta Test 3 for NCsoft's Aion finishing earlier today, they're keen to keep interest until the next phase of the beta. With this in mind, they have released some shiny new images of the Warrior subclasses; the Gladiator and the Templar. Just to recap, you play a Warrior until level 9 and, upon ascending, you must choose which class to specialise in. Do you want to just kick some arse? Go Gladiator. If you're after more of a hybrid with the ability to keep yourself and your mates alive, go Templar.

NCsoft have released three shots of each subclass. Frankly they don't really tell you much about the specific subclasses or their abilities. However that doesn't stop them being great eye candy.
This isn’t a bad thing, but it can make it tough to decide which ones are worth getting excited about and which ones will quickly be forgotten. Well, NCsoft’s Aion is definitely one of the ones worth following. From what we've seen so far, it looks great (for an MMO, of course) with the sort of crisp visuals NCsoft's been spoiling us with since Guild Wars, only better. ...

"After seeing a drop in fiscal 2008 profits, NCsoft has started 2009 with solid financial results for its first quarter ended March 31.

NCsoft said numbers were up because it was able to maintain strong sales of its flagship franchise Lineage, as well as generate solid sales with its new MMORPG, Aion, which launched in Korea in Q4 2008."

Poeta is a quiet peaceful island in Elysea. The residents are made up of farmers an villagers, who use wood from the nearby Daminu Forest thanks to the agreement they have with the tree-people, the Elim. But the peace is being threatened by the evil Krall and their Kobold slaves, who are tearing up the forest and churning up the earth in search of a new ore, Odium.

It looks like Korea is really digging the Aion beta as NCsoft has been forced to add 25 new servers to handle the load produced by the initial crush of users and even that hasn't helped lower the wait time by much. The game looks to be tracking for it's release in 2009 and it's certainly one of the prettiest looking MMO's out there but it will be interesting to see if the game can make any dent in the World of Warcraft hegemony.

Aion: Tower of Eternity is drawing closer to Open Beta, and there's a growing hunger for information. An ingenious and generous person by the name of Hellrose over at Aionsource.com has translated some information on the Twelve Lords of Legend, directly from the game's Korean site.

You can peruse the lore over at mmosite.com. The Twelve Empyrean Lords were sent forth to defend the Tower of Eternity against the Balaur, warrior members of the original race of Atreia; each one is given a brief description and image. It's evocative stuff, reminiscent of Zelazny's Nine Princes in Amber, the Choirs of the Archangels from the Kabbalah (unsurprisingly) and the kind of radiant archetype seen in anime such as Fate: Stay Night. The images reminded us strongly of Zelazny's Amber Trumps, too; a merchandising opportunity if ever there was one.
Fantasy MMOs arent an endangered species these days. So is developer NCsofts latest MMO, Aion: Tower of Eternity worth getting excited about? The game does feature rather stunning visuals with multi-tiered cities in the clouds, and the ability to take flight for short periods of time with wings early on.

We found the somewhat abstract construction of Aions world which consists of a top, middle, and bottom layer, fresh and ripe with the opportunity to explore whats above and below with the ...
We admit to raising an eyebrow upon learning that NCSoft is using a modified version of Crtek's CryEngine for its MMO Aion. It's looking... interesting in new screenshots, and we had to try really hard to spot anything sneaking out of a jungle environment.

Aion: Tower of Eternity takes you to the world of Aion where three factions are battering the crap out of each other. Two of the factions are populated by players while the third will be controlled by the server. Supposedly, actions ...
