NCSoft has released a new video showing off the Poeta zone in its highly anticipated MMO, Aion.
Poeta is a quiet peaceful island in Elysea. The residents are made up of farmers an villagers, who use wood from the nearby Daminu Forest thanks to the agreement they have with the tree-people, the Elim. But the peace is being threatened by the evil Krall and their Kobold slaves, who are tearing up the forest and churning up the earth in search of a new ore, Odium.

In an open letter to fans, NCsoft Community Manager Lani "Liv" Blazier confirms the MMO 'AION' is due for release in Europe and North America in the Autumn of 2009.
Reasons were also given for the delay of the release, such as the time it has taken to translate the game into English.

It looks like Korea is really digging the Aion beta as NCsoft has been forced to add 25 new servers to handle the load produced by the initial crush of users and even that hasn't helped lower the wait time by much. The game looks to be tracking for it's release in 2009 and it's certainly one of the prettiest looking MMO's out there but it will be interesting to see if the game can make any dent in the World of Warcraft hegemony.» Read More

Aion: Tower of Eternity is drawing closer to Open Beta, and there's a growing hunger for information. An ingenious and generous person by the name of Hellrose over at Aionsource.com has translated some information on the Twelve Lords of Legend, directly from the game's Korean site.
You can peruse the lore over at mmosite.com. The Twelve Empyrean Lords were sent forth to defend the Tower of Eternity against the Balaur, warrior members of the original race of Atreia; each one is given a brief description and image. It's evocative stuff, reminiscent of Zelazny's Nine Princes in Amber, the Choirs of the Archangels from the Kabbalah (unsurprisingly) and the kind of radiant archetype seen in anime such as Fate: Stay Night. The images reminded us strongly of Zelazny's Amber Trumps, too; a merchandising opportunity if ever there was one.
