PS2 Review
There have been games that told a story well. There have been too many games that let you beat the hell out of thugs. And, yes, ever since Grand Theft Auto rocked our world, there has been a spate of hard-talking main characters and gritty cities to wreak havoc in. But so far, there hasn't been a game quite like Yakuza, and Yakuza is, for all its faults, reliably ...

360 Review
Nov 16, 2007 It almost makes you feel dirty to complain about a game you got for free. And not free - your great aunt bought you the wrong game for Christmas - free, but an honest-to-goodness, MSRP of $0 free game. But honestly, with Yaris, Toyota may have set sales of the vehicle back by a few years. Realistically, no one expects this type of advert-game to be any good. The Burger King games from earlier this year were crap, but they made up for it a bit with their bizarre humor. Yaris is ...

DS Review
To many of us, the original Yoshis Island for SNES represents the pinnacle of 2D platformers (if you missed out, go grab a copy of the GBA port). It has absolutely everything you could ask of the genre: brilliant level design, clever puzzles that dont slow down the action, and an absolutely awesome main character. If you dont love Yoshi, your heart is cold and ...

DS Review
Yoshi's Touch and Go is very nearly the best thing on DS. For all its charm it is just a bit too short to beat Wario and Mario. Still, if you can't wait until May (when it hits the UK) and you're toying with the idea of importing it, you'll find a minor classic and one of Nintendo's most original games of recent times. Fact. It's a game of two parts, reuniting Yoshi with Baby Mario in similar fashion to Yoshi's Island on SNES and GBA. The first part of the game is an extension of the old DS demo ...

PSP Review
If you don't know how to pronounce the generations-old series of Ys, you've probably never even heard of it. It's a run-of-the-mill hack-and-slasher that has you battling monsters, chatting with long-eared villagers and searching ancient ruins for more powerful weapons. You're not getting an award-winning story or particularly deep gameplay, but fans of the old-school will feel right at home. At least they would have on the year-old PlayStation 2 version. Ark of Napishtim on the PSP is a sorry ...

DS Review
All of a sudden, in the context of the DS, “Believe in the heart of the cards” has a different meaning. And, unfortunately, its a bit difficult to believe in this one. Loosely following the newer GX series, youre on an island, attending school every day (represented, mystifyingly, by a drawing of a completely empty, silent room). Afterwards, you drag an icon around the map, using a blippy radar to flush out prowling students hungry for ...

PSP Review
Everybody's talking ‘bout the new kid in town - which, in the case of Konami's latest Yu-Gi-Oh! outing, is you. Dropped smack dab into the middle of the Duel Academy amidst of all the GX characters you love and hate - or maybe don't know jack about - you'll slowly but surely work your way up from the depths to the pinnacle of the dueling world. But be prepared to spend some quality time with your PSP, since making friends and influencing others isn't easy - or ...

PSP Review
Dec 11, 2007 Yu-Gi-Oh GX Tag Force 2 is pretty much impenetrable for the Yu-Gi-Oh! noob. Even with the tutorial theres a good few hours of learning curve before you can approach the game with much confidence. For those already Yu-Gi-Oh-ed up, the game provides all the deck-tinkering and strategy youd ever want, with more cards, cards exclusive to each copy of the game and further cards available to download. With a four-player mode and 10 new characters you have to applaud the thoroughness, ...

PS2 Review
PS2 - Yu-Gi-Oh GX: The Beginning of Destiny - Yu-Gi-Oh GX: The Beginning of Destiny Nothing irks us more when game companies try to make us pay for things we’ve already bought. The box copy of Yu-Gi-Oh GX: The Beginning of Destiny promises a heaping helping of hot card-battling action and interaction with a multitude of characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh GX universe. What the packaging doesn’t tell you is that The Beginning of Destiny is actually part of a rather obnoxious new trend – the PSP-to-PS2 port. Yes, this ...

DS Review
Another title in the colossal Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise has emerged to overload our brains with more complex monster battle card games. How anyone manages to absorb the various intricacies, chain moves and strategies with space left in their memory for anything but the most basic functions is quite ...
