Oct 17, 2007 Dawn of Magic is perhaps one of the least offensive games ever made, but it's also one of the most toothless. The game successfully copies moves from the Diablo book of success, but in the end it simply does not have enough soul to rest anywhere near that classic franchise. As its title suggests, Dawn focuses heavily on magic for combat, with a series of strange classes - the Baker's Wife, the Fat Friar, etc. - able to specialize in twelve schools of magic. Spells can be mixed ...

Dawn of Mana trades RPG tradition for action, eschewing classic elements in favor of tired double-jump platforming mechanics. Its initial moments are filled with hope, as the colorful characters of Keldy and Ritzia are introduced. The basics of play are explained: knock inanimate objects like barrels, lumber, and boulders into enemies, and those monsters will panic for a few moments while you whack them with impunity. Since only panicked baddies drop upgrade items, and fully-aware opponents can ...

Attempting to strip an MMO down to pure PvP is a nice plan, but one that requires a lot more depth than Dawnspire possesses. You choose one of five character classes, build their skills from a pool and then its straight into frenetic battle. With only one game mode (others promised), the battles feel perfunctory, with no leveling, PvE or pickups. Limited skills and frequent deaths mean you spend more time waiting to resurrect than fighting. Perhaps in a few months time, when more modes and ...

Okay, were just going to lay it out for you: Daxter is an awesome game. And the thing that makes Daxter so awesome, the thing that sets it apart from other, similar PSP games, is that it succeeds in capturing much of what made the Jak games so great while simultaneously being perfectly tailored for the PSP. The Jak games have always had great characters coupled with tried-and-true platform-hopping gameplay (and a few weapons thrown in for good measure). Daxter has all of these things, but - ...

Wii - de Blob - de Blob

Paint is reborn. Paint is now fun. It’s all thanks to de Blob, who’s basically a fat sponge. Fun-haters called the INKT Corporation have sucked all life from the world, presumably because they think it makes them big in front of the girls or something. ...

Aug 29, 2007 Nobody is going to want to swap heads with Fred, so fans of gore and macabre humour will be happy to know, our Fred is content to steal heads by yanking them off the shoulders of enemies. There are eight different craniums which you can switch between at will, each granting unique abilities once worn to better deal with certain enemy types, objects and solve puzzles. For instance, the default jar head allows Fred to charge up a special meter and turn invisible for a short amount ...

Girls! Girls! Girls! When you pick up a Dead or Alive fighting game, you know what you're getting, and you can measure it in inches of bust, waist, and hips. Dead or Alive 4, now surgically enhanced for Xbox 360, is no exception. If only it could be a little more fun. Conceptually, there's certainly nothing wrong with the one-on-one battles. Combatants batter one another around using Lucha Libre, Jeet Kun Do, Ninjitsu, and several other styles of formalized hurt that are as tricky to master as ...

There's no shame in liking the pretty ladies of Dead or Alive. Well, okay, there is (after all, we're talking about lusting after artfully arranged oversized polygons) but at least you're not alone. And whether you're a serious fighting game fan or you just ... like to watch, Dead or Alive Ultimate lives up to its name. With the release of the Dead or Alive Ultimate, Tecmo makes the Xbox the one-stop shop for all things DOA; now the entire series is represented on one console. This two-disc ...

Despite looking soft, warm and expensive, girls are secretly very violent. All fluttering eyelashes, teasing necklines and fruit-smelling hair - but so much as think of commenting on their figure, and there'll be a fist against your throat before you can say 'doghouse'. Dead Or Alive Ultimate is a tribute to that lady-violence; this being the ultimate in the Dead Or Alive games series, all dedicated to the allure of busty girls hurting each other.DOAU is a two-disc compilation, and a spanky one ...

Monday 11 December 2006 Two weeks on an island in the sun, surrounded by beautiful women in barely-there bikinis - sounds like heaven, right? Normally, it would be. Unfortunately, in the case of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, it's just a dull and embarrassing romp around the tropics. We love beating the living hell out of people with the DOA ladies in the series' fighting games for sure, but dressing them up and exchanging presents? Count us out. The game's focus, naturally, is boobs. From the ...
