PC - World of Warcraft - Burning Crusade release date is January 16. World of Warcraft hits 7.5 million players Blizzard Entertainment announced today that World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will be released in North American and European stores on January 16, 2007. The release of the WoW expansion in Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore will follow in a similar time frame.

Blizzard also announced that the WoW subscriber base has now reached 7.5 million players worldwide.

PC - World of Warcraft - World of Warcraft hits 7 million users worldwide. 9,000 servers and counting Blizzard announced at the Austin Game Conference this morning, that World of Warcraft has reached 7 million active subscribers worldwide!

What you didn't know is that they are actually very much trying to solve customer complaints, in part by adding more and more servers to WoW.

Blizzard COO Paul Sams has expressed his personal admiration for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console, but argues that console online services can't compare to Battle.net and World of Warcraft.

"When you look at Battle.net and you look at the subscribership we have with World of Warcraft, even Xbox Live is not even close to us," he said, speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz in Leipzig.
