The upcoming anime based on PS3 exclusive Valkyria Chronicles looks great. Those who live in Japan could win a chance to see it a few weeks early.
TheSixthAxis.com reports on news of a forthcoming update to Sega's PS3 exclusive Valkyria Chronicles, as news breaks of a new front opening in the games fictional land of Gallia.
Less than a year after Valkyria Chronicles was released in Japan it's joining Sony's PlayStation 3 The Best collection. The yellow striped re-release goes for 3,990 yen ($43) which means its half off. Valkyria Chronicles originally went on sale for 7,980 yen ($88) when it came out last April.
Chris Winkler writes "A budget re-release of Sega's Valkyria Chronicles will go on sale in Japan in early March. The new release of last year's popular PlayStation 3 title will include the Edie Nelson mission, which is currently only available for download (in Japan). The PlayStation 3 the Best re-release of Valkyria Chronicles will be available in Japan on March 5th for 3,990 yen ($43.78 USD)."
Torontothumbs: "Valkyria Chronicles is arguably the best PS3 game of 2008 that you have yet to play. It's a masterpiece that evokes memories of Sega's past classics and shows that the company still has what it takes to remain relevant in today's gaming world. We sincerely hope to see more of this kind of attention to detail from Sega in the future.
CVG writes: "Ten copies of Sega's awesome strategy game up for grabs.
Sega announced today that Valkyria Chronicles will be getting an anime conversion. Produced by A-1 Pictures, the show will hit Japanese airwaves in Spring 2009.
Gaming Front: "Having only been on store shelves for less than a week, Amazon have dropped the price of the PlayStation 3 exclusive from $59.99 to $49.99. A fantastic game at a fantastic price. I highly recommend anyone who was on the fence to pick this up as soon as possible."
Stop thinking about LittleBigPlanet for a moment. Valkyria Chronicles is turning out to be a bit of a surprise gem for PS3 owners. And it'll be even better next year when Sega delivers the first of what will hopefully be a long line of DLC updates.
