Hey Spanish speaking gamers! Uncharted developer Naughty Dog has some words for you. In-game, there's this Easter Egg message: "Si usted está leyendo esta piedra sepulcral usted es un nerd enorme. Consiga por favor una vida y consiga una novia."
The first game may only have come out today, but Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells says that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is bound to continue in future.
There's a nice comp running over at www.unchartedps3.com; a Google Maps-powered Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (ARG) alternative reality game. Track down Nathan Drake first and the prize is two return flights to Cancun, seven nights all-in accommodation in a four star hotel and two activities - GPS scavenger hunt and snorkel, and a submarine trip. Ten runners up bag a 26? TV. The comp runs until the end of January.
Uncharted has guns. And guns shoot people. Shooting people causes people to bleed. Not in Japan, apparently! When played on a Japanese PS3, Uncharted is bloodless. Sure, Japan has done this before with games like Dead Rising and Resistance. It doesn't matter where you bought Uncharted as the game's still bloodless. The origin of the disc does not matter, but rather, the hardware does.
Say Uncharted is a system selling game. Also point out that the danger-dealing elements deliver much of Uncharted's perfectly paced gameplay
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was one of the first PlayStation 3 titles shown during Sony's unveiling conference at E3 2005, and Naughty Dog has been on the frontlines with their Indiana Jones-inspired action adventure title every step of the way since. For some games that works, but when Uncharted became a target for criticism, the folks at Naughty Dog realized maybe they'd made a mistake pulling back the curtain so early, as studio co-presidents Evan Wells said to 1UP last week.
IGN: "Today Sony announced Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has shipped and is waiting to be discovered at your local game shop. Developed by Naughty Dog, makers of Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter, Uncharted is a new IP that takes Tomb Raider-style gameplay to the next level.
Sure you've heard some rumors that Uncharted will be hitting stores November 15th. But that isn't true, at least from what we are told from the Sony Blog.
